Despite what you may have heard…. It’s NOT a hoax

The Parrot Flower (Impatiens psittacina)The Parrot Flower

This rare plant hails from Thailand, Northern India and Myanmar (formerly Burma).

The flowers look suspiciously like a parrot in flight. They are brightly coloured in shades of lilac, reddish purple and white.

This poor plant has been accused of being a hoax with the pictures created from parts of other pictures. It is a real plant!  If you don’t believe me check out Exotic Rainforest. They have tons of info on this species and say it better than I ever could!
