The world’s largest flower auction and flower market is Bloemenveiling Aalsmeer (VBA) in Aalsmeer, The Netherlands. Every weekday approximately 19 million flowers and 2 million plants of over 12,000 varieties are sold with a daily turnover of €6 million ($7.2 million, £4 million). The total area of the building covers 999,000 m² (10 million ft²) which is equal to 165 soccer fields.
The tallest flower structure was the Chrysanthemum tower “Tengwangge”, measuring 24.43 m (80 ft 1 in) high. It was created for the 9th China (Xiaolan, Zhongshan) Chrysanthemum Exhibition in Xiaolan town, China and measured on 23 November 2007.
The longest flower box measures 1,218.23 m (3,996 ft 9.72 in) long and joins the villages of Unterretzbach and Mitterretzbach (both Austria). It was measured in Unterretzbach, Austria, on 28 July 2010.
