I was very excited when I heard about a new type of oriental lily. Some refer to it as the “rose lily.” Others call it a “double lily.”
This new, rare and unique lily has all the hardiness and vigor of the traditional oriental lilies that everyone loves, but with stunning HUGE, double flowers. These showy blossoms open to reveal layer upon layer of petals and even a double center. And if their rare beauty isn’t enough, they also have no pollen and very little scent!
Here’s two more new Lilies for 2012!
Looking for the huge bloom of an oriental lily, but in a rich golden-yellow hue? Try a new yellow variety called Belladonna – meaning “Beautiful Lady.” Belladonna is more intense in color than other yellow oriental lily varieties. Belladonna has huge bowl-shaped flowers, great intense color, and a soft wafting fragrance all in one “beautiful lady.” This lily has been a real attention grabber.
If you’re in the market for a softer touch, try Conca dor, an oriental lily in a bright lemon color with paler petal tips…Another great choice to bring in the spring season!
