Columbia – Land of Flowers

At Grower Direct we search the world in our efforts to bring our customers the finest flowers available. During the two decades Grower Direct has been retailing flowers we have developed a distinct fondness for flowers grown in Colombia, as have our customers. Nature has been particularly kind to Colombia by providing it with everything required to commercially grow the finest flowers. Ideal climate, perfect soil, and and an even amount of light year round.

Since the introduction of flowers as a commercial crop in the mid 1960’s the flower industry has grown substantially in Colombia. During this time great strides have been made to improve the lives and living standards of floral farm workers and their
families; to preserve and protect the environment for the industry’s
farmers for generations to come; and to ensure high-quality, affordable
flowers for customers year-round.

Because we are family owned, like so many of our stores, it seems only right
that we source our flowers from those that share our values. Imagine
what the world would be like if everybody shared our values…

Here is a video that provides some interesting facts about flower growing in Colombia.
